Population density of sitatunga in riverine wetland habitats

Why is it important?

Using camera traps, we use three methods of density estimation on a free-ranging population of sitatunga, a unique, semi-aquatic, and secretive antelope species. One of the density estimation methods does not require individual identification, and the results this model provides are comparable to those of the spatial density models. Our study provides the first spatial density estimate for sitatunga.
