What is it about?

In this study, the development of an integrated mathematical model was evaluated to represent an active packing system with moisture adsorption applied in 'Hass' avocado. Through the integrated model it is possible to determine the amount of adsorber required to eliminate moisture accumulation for a given period of storage

Why is it important?

The results obtained allow to reach an effective moisture control inside the packaging system, minimizing the possibility of condensation and in this way, reducing the rate of quality loss of the packaged product.

Perspectives

From this study, it is possible to configure active packaging systems for other fresh and minimally processed products by determining the appropriate parameters of transpiration and moisture adsorption.
