This is a case report on the successful outcome for the oldest woman in the U.S. to use IVF with her own eggs to achieve a live birth.

Why is it important?

This report extends the age limit for a successful with IVF using a women's own eggs but the prognosis remains very poor.

Perspectives

The patient had been declined treatment by another fertility clinic since she did not desire egg donation. Despite her age and undergoing a second myomectomy, she successfully achieved pregnancy and live birth of her only child. Her perseverance was admirable and inspiring particularly during her pregnancy complications of cervical incompetence and preterm labor.
