What is it about?
We measured 22 flame retardants in nine industries: carpet installation, chemical manufacturing, electronic scrap, foam manufacturing, gymnastics, rigid polyiso board installation, nail salons, roofing, and spary polyurethane foam.

Why is it important?
Exposure levels of these flame retardants was not previously known in some of these industries. Some industries have much higher exposure levels than others. Air and hand wipe concentrations for organophosphate flame retardants were higher than the older flame retardants (polybrominated diphenyl ethers).
