Why is it important?

This study is one of the first to clearly document an association between frailty and delirium in older medical patients. and offers some interesting elements for reflection. Furthermore, the study demonstrated that frailty can influence the performances on three common cognitive tests evaluating attention, suggesting that it should be considered when select the ideal attentional test.

Perspectives

In older patients admitted to the hospital, the presence of frailty should be systematically investigated, as this condition predicts adverse outcomes and requires a careful personalization of healthcare.
