Why is it important?
This article included details from 43 studies conducted regarding fruits and vegetable consumption in South Asia from December 1999 to 2019. The results reported that almost all South Asian countries appear to consume extremely low quantities of fruit and vegetables, lower than the World Health Organization recommendation.
Perspectives
As many South Asian countries consume extremely low quantities of fruit and vegetables than the recommended amounts by international organizations, immediate initiatives should be implemented to enhance the intake of fruit and vegetables across the region. I hope this article will be an eye-opener to the readers.
