What is it about?

This is a very comprehensive review of zika virus drug discovery focused on small molecules discovered over the past few years. it addresses various crystal structures and and issues with compounds found to date. We highlight drug repositioning and computationally guided compounds, including viral and host cell inhibitors.

Why is it important?

Zika is still a major issue, there are no approved drugs or vaccines. There have been few if any discussions or assessment of the complete array of Zika drug discovery data.

Perspectives

The perspective we come at Zika from is different. As cheminformaticians and modelers we have focused on structure -based and HTS screening efforts.
