What is it about?

This work is about analysis of XRCC4 phosphorylation by DNA-PKcs. It shows which sites in XRCC4 are phosphorylated in a defined biochemical assay. Functional analysis of XRCC4 phosphorylation has been carried out as well.

Why is it important?

Protein phosphorylation is one of key regulatory mechanisms of protein activity in cells. Here, a DNA repair protein has been analyzed.

Perspectives

MALDI Q-TOF MS/MS has been successfully applied in this work for identification of previously unknown phosphorylation sites in XRCC4.
