What is it about?

We assessed physical performance (6 minutes walk test) and health-related quality of life 2 weeks after lung cancer surgery and aain one year after surgery. We also evaluated the association between both outcomes

Why is it important?

The walked distance was associated with patient´s peception of physical functioning, evaluated via quality of life questionnaire SF-36. Most importantly, values of SF-36 one year after the surgery were comparable to a reference population

Perspectives

It is important to encourage and support patients who have gone through lung cancer surgery to achieve/resume adequate walking habits
