What is it about?

A new aptamer-based biosensor has been synthesized. The sensor measures intracellular concentrations of fructose 1,6-bisphosphate. which is a key metabolite in all cell types.

Why is it important?

Measurements of fructose 1,6-bisphosphate can reveal how much sugar (glucose) is consumed in the cells

Perspectives

The sensor is the fifth sensor developed in my laboratory. The other sensors measure: 1. Reactive oxygen species 2. Glucose 3. ATP 4. Inositol triphosphate
