What is it about?

Biological soil crusts (BSCs) are important components in drylands. We have shown for the first time that the development of biological soil crusts induced by vegetation succession drive the carbon mineralization.

Why is it important?

Our findings indicate that revegetation-induced changes in biotic and abiotic factors are important for governing C mineralization of BSCs.

Perspectives

I hope this peper makes researchers understood the importance of the development of biological soil crusts in regulating C cycling.
