What is it about?

This work reports advances in the understanding of the adsorption process of iopamidol (iodinated contrast media) onto activated carbons. Due to the fact that iopamidol can be present in solution in the form of monomers, dimers, trimers or bigger aggregates the pore size distribution of the activated carbons will play a crucial role in the adsorption process. In the experimental conditions used supermicropores and mesopores are essencial for the effective removal of iopamidol species.
