Why is it important?
The special issue contains a great number of manuscripts on the subjects which were investigated by Prof. Inden in his long a distinguished career, the quality of the works is astounding, which is surely a consequence of the great scientist and human being Gerhard is.
Perspectives
It was a pleasure to organize this issue, specially working together with Dr. Andre Schneider, who was my colleague when we were PhD students in Prof. Inden' s group and now is one of the most prominent researchers in computational thermodynamics in the industry.
