What is it about?
This paper is about identifying which factors help attribute a species to being at risk of extinction, and what methods could be implemented to stave off threatened species from becoming more threatened, as well as determining which species should receive the most attention - from a conservation point of view.

Why is it important?
This paper is important because it implemented the first global assessment of all known vipers to date, and determined, to the best of our ability, which vipers are at the greatest risk of extinction.
Perspectives
I enjoyed contributing to this paper. It was a massive undertaking. The threats, and information behind viper conservation will be changing with every passing year, so I expect this paper to require a re-assessment every so many years (every 5 years?)
