What is it about?
We study changes in risk management practices in local authorities. We do so using Schatzki's social site ontology. We use two different local authorities as case studies to show the importance of 'general understanding' of why risk management is necessary, in making sure change is sustainable.

Why is it important?
There has been criticism of risk management in the public sector and yet there is little research in this area. Our analysis of change in two local authorities following similar risk events (earthquakes) shows how risk management can be more sustainable.
Perspectives
It was good to work with Binh and Alex on this paper to ensure we applied Schatzki in a nuanced way.
