What is it about?

Fluidized-bed reactors are widely used in industries to produce polyolefins. We developed a comprehensive dynamic mathematical model of such a reactors which considers particle entertainment in order to give more accurate predictions of reactor parameters and produced polyethylene properties.

Why is it important?

This model shows that considering particle carryover from the reactor bed is essential to get more realistic results. This dynamic model can be used to either design new reactors or control systems for available ones.

Perspectives

This work was an interesting and successful experience for me to work on this topic. Co-authors were pretty helpful and collaborative and we could manage to publish the results in a prestigious high ranking journal in the field.
