This work is important since the unique behavior of reversible surfaces has provided them a significant potential for use in a variety of high-technology fields, including sensors, lab-on-chip systems, controlled drug delivery, intelligent membranes, multifunctional coatings, anti-contamination coatings and biomedical devices.
