Mercury sorption

What is it about?

This study is about mercury(II) removal from aqueous solutions. In order to achieve this goal, a new nanostructured sorbent was synthesized by sol-gel method under hydrothermal conditions.

Why is it important?

For the first time a metal salt (inorganic group) was incorporated into a mesoporous silica pores and applied as a sorbent for pollutant removal from aqueous media.
