What is it about?
This paper discusses an empirical method to model impact of energy inefficient faults on water-cooled chillers as a result of ageing and other issues to building performance by building simulation programs. The faults modeled include overcharging, excess oil, presence of non-condensable (i.e. air) and condenser fouling.

Why is it important?
This method is unique because a) it is one of the first papers on modeling of water-cooled chiller faults in building models b) it helps to justify if a fault is important for further consideration in a building at design stage
