Why is it important?

Obesity is increasing in many countries of the world. It necessitates efforts to discover safe and effective treatments. The present study showed that bottle gourd fruit has remarkable lipase inhibitory activity. So, it can work as fat-blocker. That is, inhibit digestion of fat in our intestine thereby preventing its assimilation. This would provide a strategy to control obesity.
