What is it about?
Analysis of the metals' influence/role in BEA zeolites composition, particularly Ga(Ta,Nb)SiBEA, Cr,Zn(Y)SiBEA, shows that the metal decisively affects their acid-base characteristics. Thus, balanced acid-base characteristics of these catalysts are necessary to achieve high effectiveness in the PDH-CO2 process. Propene yield over Ga(Та,Nb)SiBEA changes symbatically with total acid/base ratio. Increasing Ca/Cb ratio in Cr/ZnBEA results in raising activity/decreasing selectivity.

Why is it important?
The new data obtained in the work on the effect of the redox and acid-base characteristics of the M-BEA compositions are important for the development of new highly efficient catalysts for propene production. Additionally, the studied process is one of the promising ways to utilize carbon dioxide, a component of the so-called "greenhouse gases" that contribute to global warming.
