What is it about?

The hydrothermal method led to the development of three different ceria nanostructures (polyhedra, rods, cubes) and the shape effect of these materials on the solid state properties of copper-ceria mixed oxides was investigated revealing the importance of support morphology on the reducibility and oxygen mobility as well as the superiority of copper-ceria nanorods towards CO oxidation.

Why is it important?

The catalytic performance was perfectly correlated to various experimental parameters such as the relative abundance of oxygen vacancies and defects.
