What is it about?
Older patients with asthma have small (peripheral) airway obstruction compared to younger patients using spirometry, impulse oscillometry (IOS), and CT scanning shown as air-trapping. Elderly asthma patients also have greater airway wall thickening and less atopic status than non-elderly asthma.
