What is it about?
This chapter aims to describe some general characteristics as well as propose a specific application mimicking the operation of a biological nervous system. It is demonstrated that a single-mode semiconductor laser with intracavity saturable absorber is an excellent candidate for building block in an all-optical spiking neural network.
