What is it about?
Type 1 diabetes and LADA are autoimmune diseases with loss of immune tolerance. Vitamin D3 has immunoregulatory properties with effects on Treg cells, improving its number and functions , thereby restoring immune tolerance, and acting on beta cells improving their function and reducing their apoptosis.

Why is it important?
Low-cost and almost no side effects, vitamin D3 is an excellent option to be associated with other immunomodulatory medications, such as DPP-4 inhibitors to promote prolonged remission of type 1 diabetes and LADA.
