Why is it important?

Functionalisation of a trihydrosilane is very important for preparing various silicon based compounds. This paper provides a means to use RhCI(PPh3)3 as catalyst to trifunctionalise phenylsilane to form C-Si bond and Si-S bonds.

Perspectives

This paper presents improvisation of competitive catalytic reactions to cause new Si-X bonds through hydrosilylation and Si-S bond formation, and should be easily exploitable to make various silicon polymers.
