What is it about?

The paper reports recycling of waste rubber by a novel chemical agent. The recycled rubber can be used in fresh rubber products without compromising the mechanical properties. Rather in silica containing vulcanizate if it is used as a replacement of fresh rubber then it exhibits reinforcement without any help of coupling agent.

Why is it important?

The devulcanized rubber can be used in green tire application and the developed material shows better wet grip and lower rolling resistance.

Perspectives

Disposal of waste tire is a global environmental problem. Our developed technology is safe as well as with higher devulcanization efficiency. The developed value added technology may solve the disposal problem of waste tire.
