Why is it important?
Optimal time-interval between 5x5 Gy radiotherapy and surgery has not been unequivocally established so far. The study adds to the current knowledge on this topic showing similar overall and disease-free survival but increased risk of local recurrence in individuals operated on 4-5 weeks after the end of radiotherapy.
