What is it about?
An electric vehicle battery must be maintained below its threshold temperature limit of 60 deg. C. The present experimental work uses two types of fins namely, triangular and elliptical along with the phase change material to maintain the battery temperature within the safe limits. The temperature measurement was carried out using the thermocouples as well as the thermal camera.

Why is it important?
A battery thermal management system is crucial for electric vehicles. Our research has demonstrated that the use of elliptical fins along with phase change material can improve the battery's operating condition and hence extend its operational lifespan. This may increase EV sales and help create a pollution-free environment.
Perspectives
This article explores the use of fins and phase change material to keep the EV battery in safe temperature range. I hope this article is useful to the researchers working in the battery thermal management domain.
