What is it about?
The goal of this study is to provide information about how the liver is affected in COVID-19 patients who were admitted to a hospital in northern India. We will describe the changes in liver function tests and explain how these changes relate to the outcome of the disease in a group of patients.

Why is it important?
The current global pandemic, known as Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), primarily affects the respiratory system. However, it is a disease that affects multiple systems in the body. It also has a significant impact on the liver. We are still learning about the clinical implications of liver involvement and how it affects the overall health and survival of patients.
Perspectives
Liver problems are frequently observed in COVID-19 patients. Specifically, elevated levels of AST and lower levels of serum albumin can indicate the severity of the disease and the risk of death. These markers can help doctors in managing and predicting the outcomes of COVID-19 cases.
