What is it about?

The dynamics of the flow structure of two turbulent planar opposing impinging jets confined in a open cubical subjected to external lateral flow is studied experimentally. Results show that the flow fields can exhibit self-sustained oscillations, and we analyze the effects of the confinement boundaries and the interactions between the jets and the crossflow on the spatio-temporal dynamics of the flapping flow.
