Why is it important?
Measurement of corporate governance is an contentious issue. We created and validated a corporate governance index Further we resolve the endogeneity between corporate governance, financial performance,, organisation structure and capital structure.
Perspectives
Writing this article in an emerging economy context helped to explore the internal corporate governance mechanism. Although previously a handful studies have discussed about a corporate governance index, they lacked construct validity. Hence we created and validated a corporate governance index which would be useful to academia, practitioners, policymakers and rating agencies.
