What is it about?
Position of a nitro group attached to parent nitrobenzoic acid influences coordination environment of zinc-nitrobenzoate complexes.

Why is it important?
Positional isomers leading to different coordination complexes influences overall composition and properties of metal carboxylate complexes. Mononuclear or different types of dinuclear carboxylate complex formation can be predicted from understnading of substiuent effect.
Perspectives
Slight changes in reaction conditions while using positional isomers as ligand helps to tune structures. Properties arising from changes in geometry, nuclearity of metal complexes is prime concern. This fundamental study is one step towards that.
