Why is it important?
There are few studies about the application of proteomics to shellfish, and more specifically to clams.
Perspectives
The results obtained in this study exploited the food quality characteristics of two different clam species, finding, to our knowledge for the first time in scientific literature, biomarkers which may be valid indicators of the nutritional quality of the bivalves.
