Why is it important?
This paper documents the lesson learnt as a result of the bonded repair to RAAF F-111 wings.
Perspectives
It is a seminal work in that it reveals that the methodology proposed in the US Composite Material Handbook CMH-17-3G does not cover the propensity for disbond initiation and growth. An extension to this methodology is explained.
