What is it about?
When the Nigerian government could not defeat the Biafrans, they decided to use starvation as a weapon of war. This led to the starvation and death of many civilians especially women and children. Hence the blockades needed to be breached.

Why is it important?
This article evaluates the necessity of rendering humanitarian assistance to war victims against all odds. It is timely as the work is confronted by the ongoing humanitarian crises in Gaza, South Sudan, and Ukraine.
Perspectives
I was quite excited to write this article especially as it makes historical references between Biafran humanitarian crisis and international humanitarian policy.
