What is it about?

A series of large scale model experiments were conducted to investigate the interaction effect on the uplift capacity of anchor plates and the observations were validated and extended with a numerical finite element analysis using PLAXIS 3D.

Why is it important?

Generally, small scale model tests are more common whereas the scale effect is more pronounced in those tests. In the present study, a large scale model test is conducted to simulate better field conditions.
