What is it about?

Traditional concrete construction wastes time and materials. Casting pieces of concrete in Factory and bring them to fabricate in a construction site can solve the problem. The important issue is how to connect all the elements to form a building. This work explains a type of column base connection: easy to implement and strong to resist earthquake forces.

Why is it important?

The earthquake resistance of the proposed connection is verified through a series of tests. Recommendations for the structural design are made.

Perspectives

I hope this work will change the traditional cast-in-place concrete construction to factory based construction. The problems on time consuming, material wastes, laking of labor can be elimated.
