What is it about?

We take a close look at the boundary conditions, the initial conditions, and the error analysis of impact testing used for wood specimens that are larger than the current code. The inverse analysis showed that there are inherent vibrations which make the analysis of the data not as clean as desired.

Why is it important?

We were critical of many of the assumptions that are frequently made in the design and testing of wood specimens. The points brought up will provide more consistent and reliable testing data in the future.
