What is it about?
Presents a framework for developing robust civic initiatives (including policy and education) for the digital age. Grounded in the Philosophy of Information, this paper explains why we need a digital civics framework, describes what the digital civics framework looks like, and discusses how the digital civics framework can be implemented.

Why is it important?
Without a proper conceptual framework, stakeholders in the area of civics, including policy-makers and educators, are in danger of making initiatives that are ineffective, or counter-productive. This framework helps ensure that digital civics initiatives have the underpinning structure that they need for success.
Perspectives
This work further develops on my doctoral work that introduced digital civics pedagogy.
