What is it about?
Despite the danger they pose to humans, volcanoes are valuable tourism resources. These land forms offer a variety of experiences for individuals to enjoy. This paper examines tourist motivations for visiting Mount Pinatubo, an active volcano in Philippines known for its cataclysmic eruption in 1991. A survey of visitors showed novelty-seeking associated with the volcano's exotic landscape as the primary factor that draws tourists to the site.
