What is it about?
In this study, cotton/nylon blended fabrics were treated with atmospheric air plasma at various times (30-60 s) and were subsequently printed with pastes containing carbon black nanoparticles

Why is it important?
Treating Co/PA fabrics under air plasma process changes some surface properties resulting in a significant improvement in the level of hydrophobicity of fabrics. Adding CB nanoparticles could absorb light in both visible and NIR regions bringing the reflectance of a printed fabric closer to the reflectance level of a dark brown reference shade.
