What is it about?
We reviewed 395 patients tested by flow cytometry in Peshawar and used microscopy and cytochemical findings to select smaller antibody panels. The limited panels conclusively diagnosed 98% of acute leukaemia and lymphoproliferative cases and all tested PNH and CD4-count cases, while reducing average costs by 74-82% and turnaround time by 61-68%.

Why is it important?
Flow cytometry is essential for diagnosing many blood disorders but can be unaffordable in resource-constrained settings. Carefully targeted antibody panels may preserve diagnostic performance while lowering patient costs and producing results sooner, helping clinicians make timely treatment decisions.
Perspectives
From my perspective, this work matters because Flow cytometry is essential for diagnosing many blood disorders but can be unaffordable in resource-constrained settings. I hope the findings support further research and informed, evidence-based decisions.
