بحث أجريناه في طب عين شمس يقارن بين إستعمال المثبت الخارجي فقط لإطالة العظام بالمقارنة مع إستعمال المسمار النخاعي بالإضافة الى المثبت الخارجي . و جدنا أن فترة العلاج أقصر و المضاعفات أقل بإضافة المسمار النخاعي الى المثبت الخارجي IMN can help to shorten the duration of external fixation

راحة المريض و تقليل المضاعفات اثناء الإطالة من الأهداف الهامة في اصلاح تشوهات العظام و هذا يتحقق بإستعمال الطرق المختلفة من تثبيت داخلي و خارجي this technique is low cost and help in treating cases that cannot be treated by Internal lengthening devices
