What is it about?

Duplex stainless steels are used in situations where corrosion resistance is important, but materials must be assembled into components and one of the assembling methods is welding. This work is about the development of the microstructures in the region afected by the heat produced in welding.

Why is it important?

Understanding and predicting the microstructure development is important to produce joints with better mechanical properties, avoiding accidents.

Perspectives

This is a collaboration with the most importat research group in welding of whole Brazil.
