What is it about?

Cognitive radio (CR) is currently one of the most promising information transmission technologies to deal with the problem of spectrum scarcity and spectrum underutilization in wireless communications. we propose to devise CR networks as a retrial queueing system where PUs have preemptive priority over SUs. we build the simulation model of the queueing system using Timed Stochastic Colored Petri Nets. The obtained results prove the effectiveness of Petri nets as simulation models.

Why is it important?

We have shown that when tha analytical models become no more applicable, simulation modeling becomes the last resort to assess the dependability indicators. In this context we prove the effectiveness of timed colored Petri nets with stochastic temporisations as simulation models.

Perspectives

Extend this research work to other Radio cognitive networks configurations.
