Why is it important?

Addressing heterogeneity in preferences for travel time variability (TTV) in traveler behavior modeling can enhance the understanding of travel behavior and improve demand forecasting capabilities. Though a very limited understanding of TTV impacts on traveler behavior exists, an increasing number of publications has been seen recently. This study is the first attempt adopting the sophisticated GLMM (Generalized Linear Mixed Model) to address heterogeneity in preferences for travel time variability in the context of route choice behavior.
