What is it about?
The work focus on a novel clicked interface application between chitosan and poly dopamine with gluteraldeyhde as interlinking agent. It shows increased adhesion of chitosan to interface compared to only polydopamine and linked silane.

Why is it important?
The interface engineering for biomedical devices are important at every layer there are different possibilities of functionalize. Some coatings control corrosion some coatings bring bio-active properties it is very important to keep integrity.
Perspectives
Usually poly-dopamine has better adhesion compared to silane. While silane has hydrophobic surface properties polydopamine has lower wetting angle for water based coatings. Chitosan had already good adhesion on metal surface but with silane and poly-dopamine interfaces has more advantageous complex coating so the adhesion enchantment together with interface was vital
