What is it about?
A simple model under which one can understand quantum mechanics is introduced. This model has now been generalized, extended and made completely precise mathematically in the article 'An alternative foundation of quantum theory' arXiv: 2305.06727 [quant-ph] (2023). The model can also be tightly connected to quantum decision theory. The present article contains an important error. A group theory representation which is basic for the discussion, is called irreversible.

Why is it important?
It is very important now to understand the basis of quantum theory, since this has very many applications. It is also important to understand quantum decision theory, which is used in an increasing number of connections.
Perspectives
I hope that this understanding of quantum theory will be shared by many. My hope is that the basis of quantum theory should be formulated in a way that also is understandible to outsiders. In the long run I hope to establish links between applied theoretical statistics on the one hand and quantum decision theory on the other hand.
