What is it about?
When companies have a strong commitment to social issues and there are both formal rules and informal institutions supporting it, there is more progress in achieving gender representation on corporate boards in Europe. Firms with a strong social consciousness tend to make the most progress in promoting gender representation, often going beyond what is required by regulations.
